without your love is the long awaited debut lp from ooooo. the lp further develops - in sometimes very unexpected ways - the sounds ooooo has become known for through previous releases with tri angle records. the lp will be the first release from ooooos own label nihjgt feelings.

nick lapiens debut release as metropolis garnered little attention when it materialized last year. a skeptical yet dedicated network of underground heads built up a subterranean buzz that has yet to spread into the daylight. that initial transmission was thick with the raw analogue flavors that have become ever-present in dance floor fare recently—but his is a sound that is dedicated to the emotive, narrative aspects of electronic music rather than simple fetishization or passing curiosity in the days of yore. this, his second release as metropolis, shows a more focused and patient hand at work. the titular track on the a side is a deep, psychedelic groover. melodies, textures and sequences undulate and intertwine within a lightless atmosphere guided by lapien with optimum restraint. equally pensive and gorgeous, the flood serves as a machine’s beat-less foil on the reverse. made up of little more than feedback and two slow, echo laden arpeggiated sequences, this is reminiscent of jean michel jarre’s more sinister moments: a brilliant paradox of economy and indulgence. expect to hear more from lapien here at sequencias. he has many more dark corners left unexplored.

droid recordings presents a new 12 inch from dj hyperactive, whose jacking chicago sound has evolved over the years into a deeper sound that maintains his signature infectious drive. on 25 hours, an undulating, bassy synth line builds into the machine-voiced partiers dream of 25 hours in a day, before the track takes off with neck-breaking snare and clap combos and proceeds to rebuild. raíz pulls the track from the depths to deliver something more brash and energetic. there is more at play here, with the 3-note riff tweaked throug the tracks duration, and the words 25 looped through a series of insistent, smashing snares. in the final mix, newcomer markus suckut follows his recent remixes of xhin and pfirter with an unexpected and idiosyncratic interpretation. tonal elements are drawn into the lower registers, while the vocal sample slithers around the mix. the syncopated elements of the original surface with in an alternative mode, dark and driving.

more than six years into his career after several eps and a full album, there isn’t much known about ben gibson, and he is clearly keeping it that way with intent. gibson first emerged on jeff mills’ experimental, influential 6277 sublabel but then again vanished into the ether, he only reappeared three years later on perc trax, even more surprisingly with a full-length. since then, he’s gone on to steadily more notice with perc’s imprint, sect records, and most recently m_rec ltd in spite of the continuing lack of information. exposure isn’t the most important thing for us at chronicle though, and after hearing these five tracks, we saw exactly what it is that drew mills to him from the beginning. it is a sound that we find a perfect fit for the techno futurism of our chronicle series, and here we offer a platform for gibsons more sci-fi, ethereal sounding material, exclusively on vinyl for the fifth edition of our sublabel.

here lies the final chapter in the first testament of shocks, and as with the previous three releases, were granted no mercy. a-side tracks trajl and contagious are a full fledged assaults on the psyche, taunting with just enough melody to convince us of musicality, but never really rising from of the swamp theyre stewed in.the b side closer klamata could be seen as a comedown, but after a short while you realize that youve been led only deeper, left in a state of total disarray.

zeitgeber is a german word that, loosely translated, means synchronizer. its also the new project of electric deluxe head speedy j and stroboscopic artefacts boss lucy. both artists make some of the most forward-thinking techno around, but zeitgeber sees them pushing together even further into uncharted territories.

here we present good vibrations, the debut ep on local talk from canadian producer orazio fantini. the best thing with this ep is that it is simply straight up house music that is both deep yet raw and funky all at the same time. basically, its very local talk ,) first track, to the ball, starts off with a bubbling bass line, followed with shuffling hi-hats and swinging beat that is glued together by glistering synth stabs, infectious to say the least. turn the record over for feel it, which showcases fantinis clever use of vocal samples blended together with the perfect swing and last not but not least, on hold is a stripped track but with all the necessary elements to make the feet move.

vinyl only! 2013 repress! for the first release the swiss label has chosen a timeless deep house track from cologne resident and stadtgruen founder martin donath. >veranda< pleases with dubby chords, shuffled hi-hats and wonderful pads. dubbyman - spanish deep house pioneer and head of the fantastic label deep explorer music contributes with an incredible remix here and increases the focus on the soft and moody pads. the result is pure ear candy and we cant wait to hear this tune at the beach. two extremely strong tracks with a fantastically casual attitude and a promising beginning for waehlscheibe. both tracks mastered by above smoke at the hole of dub studio.

little is known about mysterious producer tommy rawson. our first acquaintance was the aptly named shy track on red rackems smugglers inn 001 release. we tried to find out more but the trail got cold pretty quick. it was not until hearing gilles peterson playing a version of hugh masekelas dont go lose it baby on his show that word got around, tommy rawson was back. this particular anthemic track found its way to mats who then started playing it out and every time, in every club no matter where in the world the reaction was same, people completely lost it on the dance floor! we had but no choice to release the track and luckily enought tommy must have a sixth sense because at the same time mats blasted the track at the local talk office to convince tooli shouting: this is the next big release for local talk, i m telling you! another track made it into his mailbox, the soulful house jam brenda done died with no name. both tracks ended up on this 12 inch of course. mr rawson has delivered the goods here, warm, sunsplashed music all the way. a name to watch for this year and probably not mysterious for long.

lokee musiks sophomore release features newcomer afriqua. a 21 year old from virginia, usa and currently based in berlin. this fledgling producer and student of the royal academy of music sparked interest with lokee when they met at one of their famous after hours in london. the title track here is melt & features broken groove with afriquas minimal perspective. electric pulse stabs are at the heart of this rhythm and drive it with a much appreciated space. vocals from sorcha richardson adds an eerie anthemic touch reminiscent of somewhere between the cocteau twins & fever ray

we are very happy to welcome our old friend pablo valentino for the second release of 2013. it is no coincidence if pablo & dairmount hooked up nearly 10 years ago when pablo started his imprint faces, dedicated to leftfield black music influenced soundscapes rooted in hip hop culture. both sharing a strong sense of underground activism, a deep love of the black music tree and a lovely obsession for futuristic sounds, it is no surprise that these two naturally decided to join effort under the room with a view umbrella.

the manchester based music with content imprint returns this april, with a four track ep from greek producer sek.
music with content launched in 2012 with a collaborative release from content resident, eddie leader, teaming up with agnes and iron curtis, followed by a three tracker from deymare, backed with a deep space orchestra mix, an indication of the sheer quality coming from the label from the very beginning. here it shakes things up a little with a release from a contemporary house producer, sek, notably known for his work on off, apparel music and deep series. sek aka dimitris kesses, delivers heady house grooves infused with warmth and soul.

of course the acid rebirth is the masterpiece here, in a sense. a bloody good reprise, totally replayed with hardware of the rebirth from jones and stenfenson on bonzai. finishing on a big frustration: still some work for the dj! but also with the interstellar delivery, mr gasmask brings a superb techno trance tune. at least afx fans will enjoy the last tune, the arboria tribute:a superb acid broken stuff, in the pure oldschool tradition of this owesome style. 200 copy limited!

after last years dystopic debut, super strength ep, rising parisian cedric bros aka marcelus returns to tresor with something a little more deep and shiny in emerald. once again marcelus conjures up the spirits of detroit and berlin techno, moulding them here into dreamy modern house incantations-an inspired blurring of the lines the well-versed frenchman has been rehearsing over the last decade.

dfrnt aka alex cowles, has put out a string of critically acclaimed releases via his own echodub, and londons, on the edge imprint, since his arrival on the scene in 2008, had his track headspace remixed by scuba which featured on the producers sub:stance mix cd for ostgut ton, and maintained a consistently forward-thinking approach to electronic music throughout this. here he joins 2020 vision offshoot fina records, alongside the likes of move d, leif and roberto rodriguez.

nick woolfsons teng imprint drops, tactics, this april by german producer mias void, backed with a remix from the barking dogs. mias void, better known in the industry as matthias vogt, has been producing infectious house grooves for quite some time now, with releases for labels such as, chicagos large music and lazy days recordings. here vogt pushes into new territories under his new mias void guise, matthias sees this alias as a chance to express a new, more experimental side of his productions, yet keeping the mv initials to maintain a lock between the distinctions. with releases pinned down for polytone, lo:rise and fullbarr already, this new sound will undoubtedly be as well received as his deeper explorations.
